Davidson/Nashville:  The online application site crashed on February 18 when we began to accept applications at 6 am.  Unfortunately, we will have to reschedule to address the issues. The February 18th application period will be rescheduled. Check back for updates on Mon, February 21.  The homes available will be 3 and 4 bedroom single family detached homes in a new Habitat community north of downtown Nashville. Applications are currently closed.  They were accepted in January 2022 for four homes to be constructed in 2022 with purchase expected by the end of the year or early 2023.  Please check back in April 2022 for update on whether additional applications will be accepted for these homes.
The homes will feature three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom and bathroom will be on the main floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom on a second level.  The homes are located near downtown Lebanon, TN, 31 miles east of downtown Nashville.

What You Will Need To Complete The Application

  • Information for all applicants and household members
  • Sources and amounts of income for all applicants and household members
  • Monthly expense amounts for items such as rent, utilities, and loans
  • A paystub for all jobs in the household
  • Self employed individuals will need to reference their most recent tax return and current year estimated monthly income.
  • Employment start/hire dates
  • Move-in date for current residence
  • A credit or debit card to pay the application fee ($20 per applicant)

What Happens After Submitting the Online Application

1. Initial Review – Within 30 days, you will be notified of your status by email:

  • Decline/Adverse Action – If you are declined, your notice will let you know the reasons why.
  • Notice of Incomplete – If there is no initial reason to decline your application, we will request additional information to continue our review. This will include copies of paystubs, tax returns, other income information, bank statements, bills, credit card and loan statements, identification documents for the entire household, and other items specific to your situation. You will have two weeks to complete each request.

2. Additional Review – Once we review your additional information, we may find that you do not qualify and will send an Adverse Action Notice. Otherwise, we will continue to verify all aspects of your eligibility.

3. Interview – This will be conducted by Habitat staff to review your eligibility and ensure your understanding of the program.

4. Home Visit – Two volunteer members of the Homeowner Selection Committee will conduct a home visit with you to understand your housing need and affirm your desire to partner with Habitat.

5. Partnership Decision – The Homeowner Selection Committee will vote to approve or decline your application in the month following your home visit.

*Due to COVID-19, in-person interaction will be limited in all aspects of this process. Phone call and video conferencing may be used.
